Beauty with The Beauty Maven

Beauty - Head shots with Beauty Maven Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist

Recently I was doing some natural light shooting with my model friend Bianca. She mentioned she wanted to do a website for her MUA (Makeup Artist) business, The Beauty Maven. So I told her to get together some models and I would do Beauty Head Shots of each look she wants to add to her page.

Check out Bianca’s work on her website The Beauty Maven and on Instagram @TheBeautyMaven

It ended up being and awesome project, and I am very happy with the results. Jenny, Shaheeda, Aurora, and Bella were the great models that let Bianca work her magic.

The Lighting Setup:

I did just a simple “Clam Shell Lighting” setup. I used a single Flashpoint XPLOR 600 also known as the Godox AD600 with a CheetahStand QSB-26, also know as the Cheetah “26 Quick SoupBowl, as my main light. I had it on a boom directly above and in front of the model pointed down at around 60 degrees so it would “Feather” onto their faces. The bottom of my clam shell setup was a 35”x70” Neewer Reflector Panel (Silver) to fill in the shadows from below.

Camera & Lens:

I used my Nikon D810 DSLR and a Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens

All Shots were taken at my body’s base ISO of 64 for maximum quality, 1/200 sec, and aperture f/7.1 so I had more details in focus since this was all about Bianca’s makeup creations.
